What is it and why do I want it?
First Impression Video is a way for potential new patients
to actually “meet” you when they visit your website for the
first time. This GREATLY reduces the barrier of distrust and
begins the process of trust. And trust is the first thing you
have to accomplish.
Think about it. Let’s say you need some kind of medical care.
Your physician refers you to three specialists and gives you their
websites so you can go home and look for yourself. Two of those
sites are all text or maybe there IS a video, a poorly done
educational (too long) video.
But on one of the sites, the doctor personally introduces him/herself to you and directs you to
other points of interest on the website. When you click on those other points of interest, the
doctor (or another member of their team) pop up again and help you with timely information.
Which one of the three specialists are you most likely going to call first for a consult? Or, let’s
say you weren’t referred, but you’re just searching for a new dentist, which dentist would you
most likely call for the first consult?
Now you understand the main benefit of First Impression Video. You are going to convert
more of your website visitors into more new patients! After all, what’s the use in having lots
of web traffic, if you don’t convert the majority of that traffic into new patients?
Convert more of your website visitors into more new patients!
Do I need a new or different website?
No, your existing website is likely just fine, and your website company can embed your
First Impression Video into your existing site. It should take them less than 30 minutes.
If you currently don’t have a website for your practice, we can do that for you as well.
Will First Impression Video interfere with my search engine
optimization?
Absolutely not. Actually, in the future (once Google finishes their video spiders) it may help.
Isn’t video a big file and won’t it make my website load slowly?
Well, sure, if it’s done incorrectly, but the First Impression Video will load almost
simultaneously with your website. It should not perceptibly impact the rate that the rest
of the text and pictures on your website load. The video itself may take a little longer to load,
but your site will be otherwise fully functional while the video is loading.
How does it get done?
First, book your shooting day. Then arrange your flight to Las Vegas and secure your hotel room.
We review your website, write your scripts, and forward them to you 30 days before your
shooting day. This gives you lots of time to practice!
On shooting day, our driver picks you up at the hotel and brings you to our facility. You practice
with a production assistant for about 45 minutes to refine everything, and then meet with our
wardrobe/make-up person for final touch ups.
Into the studio you go, where you will likely shoot three or four takes of six to eight 20 to 30
second clips. Actual filming will likely take an hour or two. Then, you get back in the car, and
our driver will take you back to your hotel. The rest of your time in Las Vegas is all yours!
When can I get it?
Filming will be Fridays and Saturdays three weekends per month.
Check with us on availability. We book on a first come, first
served basis when deposits are received. We strongly
recommend that you not make travel arrangements
until you receive confirmation from us that your
shooting day and time are booked.
Can I get mine done when I’m going to be in Vegas anyway?
Sure, just make sure you book your shooting day well in advance. Las Vegas is a great place to
visit any time. You can book a getaway weekend and return with something that is useful for
promoting your practice. We’ll even give you an invoice showing your attendance on shooting
day for your tax records.
Who from my office should be there?
The dentist/owner(s) is mandatory. Anyone else on the team is optional. During review of
your website, we will make recommendations to you and tell you why certain people might be
advantageous. We do get asked the question about staff turnover. If you film a staff person that
leaves your employment, we will re-shoot the new staff person free of charge within two years
of the original filming. You just have to get the new person to Vegas on a day we’re already
filming other clients.
OK, I’m interested. What does all this cost?
As of April 15, 2008, First Impression Video is $8,700+*. The “+” is there in case there are
multiple dentists with multiple staff people and more than 8 clips to shoot/edit/produce. The
biggest cost in production isn’t the actual filming – it’s in the editing process. Each 30 second
clip could take 3 to 4 hours in the editing room.
*Price subject to change. Check with us for current pricing.
Some dentists are paying over $30,000 for lesser quality
productions. Why is NPI’s price one third of theirs?
We KNOW on-site (going to the dental office) production does two things. It needlessly
increases cost to the customer, and it significantly degrades production quality (you can’t bring
a studio with you!). We also know the bulk of the marketing value is not usually associated with
the office. Potential patients want to meet YOU. They don’t necessarily care what color the
carpet is in the reception area.
That’s why we built our studio in Las Vegas. In a studio, you can control lighting, sound, and
special effects perfectly every time. Predictability breeds quality when shooting video,
especially HD video, which we use. Dentists are very willing to come to our facility (who’s not
willing to come to Las Vegas?).
We can shoot 4 dentists and their teams in one day! Everyone who shoots that day gets a
MUCH better quality presentation AND shares in the economy of not having to take a whole
crew to four different locations. Everyone wins. Superior scripting, superior production,
superior delivery time, much better price, all produced by a marketing firm that’s been
promoting dental practices for over 18 years.
Do I have to be an actor?
No, not at all! Remember, we’re trying to give
prospective patients a chance to get to know
YOU. Just be yourself. That’s what we are trying
to project to the audience who visits your
website. Think of it this way: why do your
existing patients LIKE you? Because they’ve
already met you and interacted with you!
Just be you. If after reading this, you’re still a bit
nervous, don’t worry. We’re not talking about giving an hour dissertation to your peers about
some clinical technique. Shooting a few 20 to 30 second clips will be a piece of cake!
What should I do if I am interested in getting First Impression
Video for my practice?
We will evaluate your existing website for you and present a plan of what we feel is the best
use of video for your site. All we really need at this point from you is your contact information,
your web domain and your e-mail address. We will be in contact shortly with our findings and
recommendations. From there, it’s just a matter of getting you into the production schedule.
What we offer
Can NPI produce other videos for my website besides
the First Impression Video package?
Sure. We can produce in-studio or on-site video productions. But remember, the biggest initial
bang for your marketing buck is your First Impression Video package. Nothing you do with
video on your website will have a more profound affect on converting prospective new
patients into first appointment phone calls.
What other services does NPI offer to generate new
patients for my dental practice?
New Patients, Inc. manages marketing budgets for dentists. We can handle one project at a
time, groups of projects, or manage an office’s ENTIRE campaign. It’s up to you.
